Development Variance Permit

Development Variance Permit (DVP) are usually considered where the site characteristics or other unique circumstances do not permit strict compliance with an existing regulation. Please see Development Variance Permit Guide - { pdf 475KB }.

A DVP must be approved by Council. Most DVP's are to vary zoning (i.e. building setbacks, building height), to seek relief from certain regulations in the Zoning, Sign, Subdivision and Development Bylaws, or to amend a LUC.
