Environment Advisory Committee (EAC)

The purpose of the Environment Advisory Committee is to provide advice on climate change and environmental considerations as referred by Council.
Mandate
The Committee shall provide advice to Council on aspects of the following:
- Measures to address climate change.
- Environmental policies, environmental protection measures and plans, studies, and initiatives related to the environment.
- Burns Bog Management Plan (Conservation Covenant).
- Other items as directed by Council.

Meeting Schedule
The Committee meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month and/or at the Call of the Chair. Meeting dates are subject to change and should be confirmed by calling (604) 946-3220.

Membership
The Committee shall consist of nine (9) members, appointed or as otherwise directed by Council, who shall serve without compensation as follows:
- Two (2) member of Council (Chair and Vice Chair)
- Seven (7) community members
Consideration will be given to include representatives with expertise in relevant areas such as the environment and community planning.
Community experts shall be called upon as non-voting members as required.
