Civic Recognition

The Council of the Corporation of Delta may bestow a Civic or Sport Recognition award, when deemed appropriate, for the formal recognition of outstanding achievements by an individual and/or group. The Office of the Municipal Clerk coordinates and manages all duties related to the presentation of Civic Recognition Awards.

Council endorsed the Civic Recognition and Sport Recognition Policy which provides for the granting of six levels of Civic Recognition as follows:

• Freedom of the Municipality Award
• Civic Merit Award
• Major Achievement or Long-term Contribution Award
• Achievement Award
• Certificate/Letter of Appreciation
• Sport Recognition
