Overview
A process has been initiated to prepare a new area plan for Tsawwassen by May 2010. The new area plan will replace the current area plan, which was adopted by Council 16 years ago, in 1992. The Tsawwassen Area Plan Review is being facilitated by the Tsawwassen Area Plan (TAP) Steering Committee, which was recently appointed by Council in March 2009.
A public consultation process which featured five public forums is now complete. The forums were held to obtain your views on the future of the community. These views, the public comments and draft policy directions have now come together in an "Ideas" document { pdf 339 KB }. You are encouraged to attend the next series of public forums to let us know whether the Ideas document includes the issues that are important to you and to discuss future policy directions.

Public Forums: Phase II
Community Input & Policy Directions
Phase II of public consultation on the Tsawwassen Area Plan will be starting on Thursday, March 4, 2010. As in Phase I of the public consultation, we will be seeking your thoughts on how the Tsawwassen Area Plan should be updated.
Discussion will be based on the proposed policy directions for the updated Plan as described in an "Ideas" document { pdf 339KB } which will be available on this website the week of February 22, 2010. The proposed policy directions are based on research done in response to various issues that arose, presentations made to the Tsawwassen Area Planning Committee and discussions held with Delta Council.
You are encouraged to attend the next series of public meetings noted below. These will provide direction to the Tsawwassen Area Planning Committee and Delta staff as they prepare the Tsawwassen Area Plan update.

Tsawwassen Area Plan Committee Meeting Schedule
The TAP Committee meets every 7:00 pm on the first and third Thursday of each month starting in September 2009.
