2006 World Under 20 Pre-Competition

The Corporation of Delta, along with the South Delta and North Delta Minor Hockey Associations are proud to be hosting the Slovakian Team for their World Under 20 pre-competition camp and exhibition game.

Tickets for the exhibition game may be purchased in-person or by telephone from any of the following locations:

Good tickets are still available. Tickets are $20/person for reserved seating and $15 per person for standing room. Sungod Arena holds 1,978 for reserved seating and 500 for standing room.

Open Practices

The Slovakian team will hold open practices at Ladner Leisure Centre from December 18th to 23rd. All practices take place at Ladner Leisure Centre and are open to the public free of charge. They are scheduled as follows, however, they may be changed without notice at the direction of the Slovakian coaching staff.

Delta's two local Minor Hockey Associations are already working with Delta Parks, Recreation and Culture on plans to make this a great 'week of hockey'.

There is already a strong Delta connection to the Slovak team through the Vancouver Giants, who live and train in Delta. 2005/06 Giants player, Mario Bliznak, and last year's Giant stand out, Andrej Meszaros, are both Slovakian. Meszaros is now with the NHL Ottawa Senators organization. He played for the Slovak team at the 2005 World Junior Championship in North Dakota.
