10:00 am Delta has been receiving inquiries and concerns regarding increased airplane traffic and noise over Delta residential neighbourhoods. NAV Canada, who is responsible for air traffic control, has recently made changes to the airspace and flight paths in the Lower Mainland. Delta has requested that use of the new flight paths be suspended until Delta residents can be assured they will not be negatively impacted. NAV Canada staff attended the October 15th, 2007 Delta Council Meeting to provide a presentation on the changes made to the airspace and flight paths in the Lower Mainland and answered questions from Council on this issue.
NAV Canada can be contacted at 1 (800) 876-4693 or email service@navcanada.ca with your questions and concerns. Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has a 24 hour noise information line which is (604) 207-7097 or email noise@yvr.ca. See the August 9th, 2007 Vancouver Airport Noise Issues Council Report |
