Ipsos Reid Citizen Satisfaction Survey Results

September 14, 2010

At the September 13, 2010 Regular Meeting, the results of the 2010 Ipsos Reid Citizen Satisfaction Survey were reported to Delta Council.

The results indicate that Delta citizens are generally satisfied with the quality of life and the level and value of services provided by the municipality. In terms of value for tax dollars, 87% of respondents consider the services provided by Delta to be 'very good' or 'fairly good' value - this is consistent with previous surveys and higher than municipal norms (81%).

Transportation is the top issue of concern for 31% of respondents, followed by growth (29% of respondents) and concerns regarding education/funding (13%) and the environment (12%) have increased significantly from previous years and are higher than municipal norms. Most concerns regarding the environment related specifically to the maintenance of agricultural land.

A total of 300 interviews were conducted by Ipsos Reid between April 29 and May 9, 2010, with a randomly selected sample of Delta residents aged 18 and older. There is a 95% confidence that the results fall within 5.7 percentage points of what they would be if every person aged 18 and older living in Delta was polled.
