South Fraser Perimeter Road
This page covers the following topics:
Overview
The South Fraser Perimeter Road (SFPR) project is a new four-lane, 80km/h route along the south side of the Fraser River, extending from the Highway 17/Deltaport Way intersection in southwest Delta to 176th Street in Surrey with connections to Highways 1, 91 and 99, and TransLink's new Golden Ears Bridge connector. Currently there is no east-west transportation corridor to serve the port facilities, industrial sites and commuters on the south side of the Fraser River.
The South Fraser Perimeter Road is part of the Gateway Program, which was established by the Province of British Columbia in 2003 in response to the impact of growing regional congestion, and to improve the movement of people, goods and transit throughout Greater Vancouver. The Gateway Program includes three components: the proposed Port Mann/Highway 1 Project, the North Fraser Perimeter Road Project and the South Fraser Perimeter Road Project.
