Home Owner Grants

Home owner grants are available to individuals who are Canadian citizens or Landed Immigrants and reside permanently in British Columbia. A home owner is entitled to the grant if he/she occupies an eligible residence as his/her principal residence.

If you are eligible for the home owner grant, the completed application is due by the property tax due date to avoid a penalty on the grant amount.

Electronic Home Owner Grants

**Each year, the deadline for Electronic Home Owner Grant applications is December 31st.

The Corporation of Delta is pleased to provide residents the ability to submit Electronic Home Owner Grants (EHog). To apply for the grant, you will be required to enter the folio number and access code that are shown at the top left corner of the Tax Notice. If you have recently purchased the property, and your name does not appear on the Tax Notice, please contact the Taxation Office at (604) 946-3235 to acquire a new Tax Notice. The access code is invalid if your name does not appear on the notice.

Please note:

  1. You are responsible for the proper completion of the grant.
  2. You must claim the grant every year.
  3. You can claim the grant even if you are not making a payment.
    • If your mortgage company pays your taxes, you still must apply for your grant each year.
  4. Maximum grant amounts:
    • Basic Grant: $570
    • Additional Grant: $845 (65 years of age or over, or otherwise qualifying).
  5. Grant Reduction:
    • The grant is reduced by $5 for every $1,000 of residential assessed value in excess of $1,050,000. It is eliminated at $1,164,000 for the basic grant and at $1,219,000 for the additional grant.
