Property Taxes, Flat Rate & Metered Utilities
- Property taxes are due July 2, 2013
Property taxes are calculated based on the assessed value of your property, which is provided by BC Assessment. The 2013 Tax Rate Schedule will be available June 2013.
The Property Tax Notice includes levies from the following taxing authorities: Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD), South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority (TransLink), BC Assessment (BCA), Municipal Finance Authority (MFA) and the School Tax Administration. Delta does not control rates for these taxing authorities, but acts as the collector on behalf of those authorities. Delta Council has control over the rate setting of municipal taxes only.

Flat Rate & Metered Utilities
- Flat rate utilities are due April 2, 2013
- Metered utilities are due on the last day of the month following the date of billing (see Important Dates)
The utility rate bylaws set out the rates for water, sewer, garbage and recycling and are approved by Council each year.
The flat rate and metered utility user rates are based on the costs of providing the specific utility. Major costs include the purchase of services from Metro Vancouver, debt repayment charges on money borrowed to construct the utility systems, contractual costs for garbage and recycling programs, contribution to capital for water and sewer distribution system improvements, and operating costs to maintain the system.
