Regulates and licence businesses in Delta.
The Community Planning and Development department receives and processes business licence applications. Applications are reviewed to confirm the proposed business activity complies with the permitted uses associated with the zoning of the land and any restrictive covenants or land use contracts. With the exception of a home office, inspection staff from the Municipal Hall and Fire Prevention Office will visit the business location. A Fraser Health Inspector will also be requested to visit a business that involves food handling.
Business means the carrying on of a commercial or industrial undertaking of any kind or nature, or the providing of professional, personal or other sevices for the purpose of gain or profit.
