Municipal Ticketing Information Bylaw
Category: Community Standards
Bylaw Number: 6639
Municipal Ticketing Information Bylaw was introduced and adopted for the purpose of enforcing bylaw compliance. Many lower mainland municipalities currently utilize a Municipal Ticketing Information (MTI) system as a tool to efficiently, effectively and economically achieve compliance with community bylaws. Delta staff believes that this system will greatly improve the efficiency of the bylaw enforcement process and improve the rate of bylaw compliance.
The MTI Authorization Bylaw identifies which bylaws and offences Council has authorized enforcement officers to issue a ticket for, which enforcement officers have been authorized by Council to write a ticket under each specified bylaw and what the fines will be for specified offences. Please note, this explanation is for information only; please consult the bylaw itself for a more detailed understanding of the MTI system and associated fines.
