Flood Planning and Preparedness

Currently, there is no imminent risk of flooding in Delta. However, with spring temperatures anticipated to fluctuate from cool to extreme warm conditions over the next couple of weeks, the potential for increased volumes of water in BC's major rivers is heightened. As a result, Delta has stepped up river monitoring and flood preparations by activating Stage 1 of the Corporation of Delta's Five-Stage Flood Management plan. While Delta is more favourably situated than other communities further east along the river, the Corporation of Delta is standing-by for any eventuality. Delta is actively working on flood preparation and reviewing emergency plans. Delta would also like its residents to be informed and prepared in case a flood occurs.
