Delta Earth Week
April 18 - 23, 2010
Delta will be celebrating Earth Day with a week-long schedule of events, activities, environmental tips, challenges and prizes. Your school, business and family are invited to participate!
Events & Challenges:
- Watershed Creek Fish Release - Sunday, April 18
This event will kick off Earth Week including crafts, activites, interactive presentations by several environmental organizations, and the release of 25,000 chum fry into Watershed Creek.
- 2nd Annual "What's Cool to You?" Photo Contest (contest now closed)

Travelling Earth Week Open House - April 20 - 22
The Corporation of Delta will be presenting a travelling open house with displays from local environmental organizations and municipal departments throughout Delta.
Groups confirmed include: The Delta Farmland and Wildlife Trust, Birds on the Bay, BC Wildlife Rescue Association, OWL, and Corporation of Delta.Tuesday, April 20 North Delta Recreation Centre 8:00 am - 3:30 pm Wednesday, April 21 South Delta Recreation Centre 8:00 am - 3:30 pm Thursday, April 22 Municipal Hall 8:00 am - 8:00 pm

- Earth Day Open House, Thursday, April 22, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Local environmental groups will be in attendance at Delta Municipal Hall to host their information booths and displays and to answer questions and talk about their programs. Winners of the 2nd Annual "What's Cool to You?" photo contest will be announced. Come see OWL's live birds of prey, learn about Burns Bog, try your hand at fish printing, and explore the environment in Delta.

- Litterless Lunch Challenge
Don't be out to lunch when packing your lunch! Compete in Delta's Litterless Lunch Challenge. Challenge your classroom to reduce the amount of garbage it produces by packing a litterless lunch. Submissions must be received by 4:30 pm, April 22, 2010.
- Acts of Green
Register your "Acts of Green" with us to promote your environmental commitment and show us what you are doing to help the environment. Submissions must be received by 4:30 pm, April 22, 2010.
