The Corporation of Delta Tourism Strategy
Overview
The Corporation of Delta Tourism Strategy presents a collective tourism vision, goals, strategies, and implementation plan to guide tourism development in Delta. The Strategy also addresses key issues and opportunities related to Delta's tourism development priorities. The Corporation of Delta Tourism Strategy was funded through the Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Community Tourism Program in support of identifying eligible projects to encourage tourist activity.
The Community Tourism Strategy was developed from May to September 2006. The Corporation of Delta commissioned Grant Thorton LLP to undertake the background work, analysis and consultation to support the development of the Community Tourism Strategy. Delta's tourism stakeholders were involved at key stages of the project's development through two focus groups and industry interviews. Consultation with the broader community was conducted through two community forums.
The Delta Tourism Strategy Report was prepared by Grant Thorton LLP. This report includes the vision, goals, strategies and implementation framework to guide tourism development in Delta.
